EM Costa Vista Hotel and Spa in Kita Nakagusuku provides the best value Hotel lunch buffet on the island daily.
This lunch buffet has been loved by locals since I was founded in 2005, and now by the domestic tourists, and international. It’s very popular. Popular buffet runs well and keeps foods fresh on the table, so it’s even better.
EM stands for Effective Microorganisms. When put in foods, EM turns it to cheese, yogurt, bread, soy sauce and miso, while non-EM gets them rotten. When put in soils or water, EM purifies and enriches the environment.
Professor Higa of University of Ryukyus has engineered to extract EM and exclude non-EM. Now it’s a big corporation that sells EM products nation wide. This hotel was founded to show a practical example of Life with EM, which they suggest.
All the paints and glues in this hotel’s construction was blended with EM liquid. They say the painting job was so much easier and the construction workers didn’t get sick at all. The restaurants use organic or semi-organic vegetables that the contract farmers grow in the EM enhanced soil. The meat and milk come from animals that are raised with feeds that grow in EM enhanced soil and whose excreta is turned into natural fertilizer by EM.
And we are here for lunch.

Many tables. But sometimes it’s packed with tour buses. Better make a reservation if possible.
The roasted chicken was the best.
These are the famous EM tomatoes. They are so sweet that they taste like fruits.
So many desserts.
But I was locked on to these tomatoes and couldn’t get out of it.
And I liked this combo of whipped cream cheese and cherry jam.
