Cookhal is nested in Nago Agri Park right next to Neo Park Okinawa, behind Makeman Nago. Nago Agri Park is the city project to support agricultural commercialization. Cookhal is a cafe, run by a group of farmers in this area.
So this is a farmers’ cafe. They grow their own vegetables. Also spices, rice, and meat are locally grown. All fresh and seasonal. No preservatives and artificial flavors.
Pretty interior.
Outside (under roof) eating area.
They sell their vegetables. Look at the beautiful vegetables.
They sell some uncommon crops too.
YuYu got some Jujube, or chinese dates, which are very rare to find fresh in Japan.
This is where to order.
They can make some smoothies with assorted vegetables and fruits.
YuYu got a smoothie with beets and Shikuwasa citrus.
We just had lunch before we came here. But I couldn’t help.
This is Full Of Okinawa. What am I here for???
I got Yaki-Panino. Hot dog. Housemade sausage with locally grown pork. Rosemary seasoning and pickled red cabbage they grow. This is Yambaru dog. (Yambaru means the wilderness in Northern Okinawa)
Sausage is very rich with a little smokey flavor. Very good.
The bread is perfect for this dog. Light crust outside and chewy texture inside. Instantly I sensed that this is a work of Pain de Kaito. I learned later that it is. A good choice.
They sell those sausages and bacons that they make with no preservatives and artificial flavors.
The restaurant wall was filled with pretty jars. They are pickles.
Each are different assorted pickles. Very pretty. Should make a good gift. JPY540 a jar.
